Future Farming Technology Writing Prompt

This scene shows a field being scanned and cared for by flying drones. We don’t know exactly what farming will look like in twenty or thirty years, but technology is changing fast, and the next generation (that’s you) will help design the tools that make food growing safer, smarter, and more sustainable. Your job is to imagine what future farming technology could look like. Writing Task: Design + Informative Explanation Design a new piece of future farming technology that could help farmers care for crops in smarter, cleaner, or more efficient ways. You are not limited to drones. Your idea can be realistic, futuristic, or completely new. Your explanation should include: What the technology is (drone, robot, smart sensor, underground scanner, cloud-based system, etc.) What problem it solves (waste, pests, water use, climate, crop health, soil balance) How it works in simple steps Why it would improve farming for people and the environment One visual detail from the image that inspired your idea Extension – Blueprint Sketch Create a labelled sketch or “blueprint” of your invention. Add: main parts (camera, sprayer, sensors, energy source, control panel) arrows showing how it works 3–5 keywords (precision, eco-safe, sustainable, smart-data, targeted care) Make it look like something you’d find in a STEM classroom or a product pitch.
