When I’m 80 Writing Prompt

Imagine being 80 years old and having a whole day to do things that make you happy. What would you do? Would you tell funny stories to your family or teach your grandkids how to make the world’s best cookies? Or would you be the most excellent grandparent ever, making music for a dance-off or designing an astonishing new video game? You could be painting a vast, colourful artwork, going on an exciting treasure hunt, or playing outside in the garden.

Write a recount of this fantastic day. Please tell us where you are, who’s with you, and what fun things you’re doing. Talk about why you love these things and how they make you feel special. Today is also a day to think big — what dreams do you want to come true when you’re older? Write about how you can show everyone that no matter how old you are, you can still dream big and do awesome stuff. Make sure your story contains everything you like the most, and tell us all about the best parts of your day!
